(PRWEB) September 11, 2010

Chris has been teaching at the university since 2005, after the vital addition of the Digital Consumer course to the schools program. The class covers a variety of aspects involving the modern day digital consumer, from the rise of eRetail to the ‘dot com’ boom, and right the way through to today’s sophisticated multi channel digital user. Chris plays a vital role in helping students to research, identify and map key behavioural influences, as well as understanding the importance of usability and the customer experience. Students are also able to utilise many of eDigitalResearch’s tried and tested research methodologies to conduct their own practical usability tests.

David Nicholas Director of the Department of Information Studies at UCL explains that, “Chris has a pioneered e-shopping research and evaluation and has benefited UCL researchers and students by sharing his knowledge and skills with them. UCL are pleased to recognise his considerable contribution by awarding him an honorary professorship.”

eDigitalResearch have been tracking the growth and development of the UK digital consumer for over ten years now, giving Chris a wealth of experience and expertise to call upon in his role. “It is with great honour that I accept this position. eCommerce is becoming a fundamental part of everyday life for most consumers. Understanding this new digital consumer and their behaviour is therefore an important learning curve for future business success and it is a tribute to that UCL that they recognise the importance of this to their students knowledge.”

The appointment cements the importance of online and digital technology for the development of the UK market place. As more and more products and services are available online, interpreting the behaviours and actions of the multi channel user is critical. Chris’ key responsibilities will include his continued support of the course, as well as assisting the department as a whole, proving invaluable insight and expertise where necessary.

Hey, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using WordPress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?
